Updated Review - Machine Survived a Hard FallReview by Robert

Last Saturday someone quickly moved into my lane at a much slower speed than I was traveling and I slammed on my brakes. I heard a loud thud from the rear of my van (I thought I secured my machines fairly well) and discovered my LeverMatic on the floor of my van.

The three prongs where the cord plugs into chipped and broke in some places. After a weekend of super glue, epoxy, and electrical tape, the machine fired back up and I had to screw the lamp back in and boom, light.

This machine is built like a tank! I now also cut automotive keys and the D jaw is super handy with foreign keys!

ADMIN COMMENT: Robert, we have that AC power receptacle in stock and lot of other parts. If you ever need parts let us know. (Posted on 2/20/2017)

I bought an open box one at $50 discount 5 years ago when I started my own business. There was an issue with the shoulder gauge and the whoever returned it couldn't figure it how to make it work or didn't want to I guess. But Other than that it's been a solid machine for me until my van got broken in and got it stolen alongside with other equipment.
The biggest pro of the machine for me was the microadjustable tracer!!! Can easily adjust the depths when duplicating deeper/shallower key and can calibrate right back simply by putting two blank keys on each vise and gradually turn the adjust know until you hear the cutter start touching the key then stop and tighten the thumb screw on top of the tracer. No special tool required. Better than any other machine I have calibrated. I bought silca speed 044 as a replacement and will replace the set screw with wing screw to make it similar. It's 4 way vises are very nice too when you are cutting worn out keys. You can grab the keys in the grooves instead of the blades.

Only thing I did not like about was the cutter option. The cutter and the tracer are sloped on only one side versus double angled slope. Unless you go slow to cut it perfectly on the first time it's hard to move the carriage back and forth because the tracer is so sharp that it scrapes the original key. And when you are duplicating hundreds of keys on the job site it could be frustrating. I asked for the option of swapping the cutter and tracer the sales person said "Nope" That's why I wanted to get the Rytan this time ( that I like a lot ) even though the calibration is a pain but then I had to wait a couple of weeks to receive it (made to orders) I went with Silca Speed 044 which turned out to decent also but not perfect.

All in all I really liked the machine and it would be a very nice back up machine to even after upgrading to more expensive machines. If you are starting out on your own and have a limited budget then this is the machine for you. And you might even not feel needed to upgrade after all!!! (Posted on 2/1/2017)

I did a lot of research on key duplicating machines prior to purchasing this model. I am very pleased with this machine, oh and this is my first machine I've owned. I originally purchased to duplicate keys for the mailboxes I have in my store. This machine is so easy to use and every key works perfect I'm now cutting all sorts of keys as another revenue stream. Bought this machine because my other machines (1200cm, Ilco duplicator ), would not accept remote head keys. This works great with them. Its easy to setup, cuts better then the Ilco and is so smooth.
And its dirt cheap compared to other brands.
Will be looking at this brand when I need a sidewinder. (Posted on 6/17/2015)

I have 2 retired key machines I purchased used. I wanted this one because of the easy adjuster. It is doing exactly as I hoped making easy key depth adjustments.

Just came in yesterday and already glad I made this choice. The machine is A+ in my book (Posted on 5/8/2015)
Fantastic Duplicator and a Bargain!Review by Robert

I purchased this duplicator just a few weeks ago as an upgrade from my existing duplicator and I am very impressed. Fast cutting and the micro adjustment came in very handy last week on a job when a customer said his key from a home improvement store wasn't opening his store's dressing room locks properly (keys were cut too deep).

The biggest ease this upgrade has made for me is having the lamp. (Posted on 12/13/2014)
