With use the ends of the wires wear from the initial flat face to a rounded end. As the tips get rounded they tend to slip off the pins, and it is easy to then bend the wire ends.

To check your existing Push Wires, look carefully at the wire ends at the key-tip as you rotate the "push" end of the probe. If they wobble you will have a hard time picking locks.

Even if they don't wobble, view them for flatness. If they are rounded it can be more difficult to pick a lock.
